Best Western Hotels, a global franchise powerhouse, focuses on lifestyle hotels to capture a bigger proportion of urban business visitors. Because of its motel roots, the business has become well-known for its road brands Best Western and SureStay.
However, the business, which operates 4,700 hotels under 18 brands, is not immune to economic forces and, like many of its competitors, sees the potential in providing customers with various activities rather than just a single bed.
Cuculic appears to be eager to make his imprint as the new CEO. As predicted, he wants to see the premium brand WorldHotels succeed because it is a new brand (Best Western bought the chain in 2019).
The CEO believes his hotels have already understood the notion of leaning into local experiences, citing ski or guide packages offered by Best Westerns worldwide. “We urge all of our hoteliers to be a part of their community so that they are more than just a hotel. They should be active in the community if they want to offer value,” he added.
Best Western Premier hotels witnessed a 30 percent rise in midweek business year over year. The business also stated that contracted hotel nights grew by 8% in February 2022 compared to February 2019.
