ExploreGB, VisitBritain’s key trade event, is set to take place virtually from February 27 to March 3. The event will bring together over 200 global buyers and 320 suppliers and destinations from across Britain to connect and conduct business online.
During the five-day program of virtual events, destinations and suppliers will have the opportunity to showcase their tourism products and services to leading global buyers and establish valuable business connections. Buyers from over 20 countries in the travel industry, including Australia, China, the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) markets, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the U.S., will participate in the virtual event.
The event will feature more than 10,000 pre-scheduled one-to-one virtual business meetings. ExploreGB Virtual is designed to accommodate all time zones, and a scheduled program of one-to-one virtual appointments will be available for suppliers and international buyers from both short and long-haul destinations. Delegates will be able to manage their own schedules throughout the event, with the virtual platform open daily from 1 to 6 p.m. EST.
The trade event concludes on March 3. VisitBritain will be conducting what they call a PRConnect programme where Destination Management Organizations or DMOs across England, Scotland and Wales will interact with VisitBritain individually, sharing anecdotes to woo international travellers to visit Britain.
There’s another campaign set to launch at the end of the month encouraging visitors to “See Things Differently” and posting Britain as an entertaining, dynamic and all-inclusive tourist place and promoting notes of warm British salutations. The multimillion-pound campaign is titled “Great Britain” and will be launched in the US, GCC countries and European markets like France, Germany and Spain – basically at places where there is evidence of growth.
The Coronation of King Charles III in May and other major events in 2023 like Eurovision Song Contest, also in May, hosted by Liverpool after Ukraine, winner of the 2022 contest, was unable to meet the demands of hosting the event due to security concerns caused by the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, will also be covered in the campaign.
