ANA Unveils New Fares and Standardized Rules for a Seamless Travel Experience

All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline and a 5-Star carrier for 12 consecutive years, is set to transform its passenger experience by integrating its domestic and international flight systems and introducing a revamped fare structure. The new approach aims to make fares easier to understand and booking more convenient for both Japanese and international travelers.

ANA’s Executive Vice President of Customer Experience, Keiji Omae, emphasized that these changes are designed to create a more seamless and enjoyable journey for all passengers.

Starting soon, ANA will offer three new domestic fare categories—“Standard,” “Flex,” and “Simple”—each catering to different traveler needs. The “Standard” fare includes basic services like advance seat reservations and upgrade eligibility, with some flexibility for changes. The “Flex” fare provides maximum flexibility, allowing free and same-day changes up to departure. For budget-conscious travelers, the “Simple” fare offers minimal extras at a lower price.

Additionally, round-trip fares and longer layover options (up to 24 hours at designated points) will be available, giving passengers more choices and potentially lower prices.

On the international front, ANA is also rolling out a new branded fare structure, introducing options such as “Basic,” “Light,” and “Value” fares, which differ in baggage allowance and seat selection privileges. Notably, some new economy fares may not include checked baggage or advance seat selection, reflecting a shift towards more customizable and affordable travel options. Upgrades using miles and points remain available, with specific conditions for eligibility and booking.

These updates reflect ANA’s commitment to flexibility, transparency, and customer-centric service, positioning the airline to better meet the evolving needs of modern travelers while maintaining its reputation for excellence.
