As the summer season approaches in Europe, recent insights from Agoda, a prominent digital travel platform, indicate a growing preference among European travelers for Asian destinations.
Compared to last year, there has been a notable 52% surge in accommodation searches by Europeans looking to travel to various parts of Asia. Particularly intriguing is the 26% increase in searches for accommodations in India, highlighting the country’s emerging popularity among European tourists.
Among the top destinations in Asia favored by European travelers – Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan take the lead, closely followed by Malaysia and the Philippines. This trend underscores the diverse appeal of Asian destinations, catering to a wide range of traveler interests.
The United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands emerge as the key European markets displaying significant interest in traveling to Asia. India, securing the ninth spot on the list, is witnessing a surge in accommodation searches primarily from travelers based in the UK, Germany, Spain, France, and the Netherlands.
Specifically in India, the top searched destinations by European travelers include Lonavala, New Delhi, and Chennai, each providing a blend of leisure, adventure, and cultural experiences.
