Four Seasons, in collaboration with Fungseng Prosperity Holdings Limited, has announced the upcoming construction of a new luxury hotel in Shanghai. Set to open its doors in 2027, the Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai will stand 44 storeys tall and offer 160 luxuriously appointed rooms and suites.
Located in the heart of the Huangpu district of Puxi along Huaihai Zhong Road, the hotel will be a focal point for shopping, dining, and entertainment. The design will celebrate Shanghai’s modern creativity and Art Deco heritage architecture, providing guests with a vibrant and immersive experience.
Bart Carnahan, President of Global Business Development at Four Seasons, highlights the significance of the return to Shanghai: “The return of Four Seasons to Shanghai will present a new luxury hospitality offering that captures the vibrant character of this world-class city.”
William Wai-hoi Doo, Chairman of Fungseng Prosperity Holdings Limited, expresses pride in the partnership: “We are proud to partner with Four Seasons once again to reintroduce its presence in Shanghai for both locals and international travelers to enjoy.”
The Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai will feature contemporary design by Ricardo Bofill and P&T Group, as well as interior design by Jean-Michel Gathy of DENNISTON. The hotel will preserve traditional lane houses, known as Shikumen, at the base of the development, offering guests a taste of historic, residential-style architecture.
The hotel will also introduce five new original culinary concepts, contributing to the city’s dynamic culinary scene. With 670 square meters of meeting and event space and comprehensive wellness facilities, the Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai aims to provide unmatched quality and genuine care at every touchpoint.
