China has the most construction rooms in the area (295,989), followed by Vietnam (29,178).
- Africa and the Middle East: 135,217 rooms are now under construction (-7.6%)
40,539 rooms were planned in all (-16.6%)
62,679 rooms are planned (-0.6%)
Total number of contracts: 238,435 (-7.8%)
Construction activity is led by Saudi Arabia (42,008) and the United Arab Emirates (34,935).
- Americas: 228,662 rooms are now under construction (-16.6%)
247,381 rooms were planned in all (-15.9%)
Planning: 301,333 rooms (+36.1%)
Total rooms under contracts: 777,376 (-1.6%)
The United States has the bulk of rooms under development in the area. Aside from the United States, Mexico (14,763) and Brazil (7,680) have the most rooms under development in the area.
