The construction of the 28-storey structure that will serve as the site for the forthcoming Riu Plaza Chicago hotel is making significant progress, with multiple floors already erected above ground. Additional information regarding the hotel chain’s significant new initiative in the United States is beginning to surface.
One of the most striking attributes of the upcoming Riu Plaza Chicago hotel is the sky bar located on the 26th floor, which will provide guests with breath-taking views of the city. The newly unveiled visuals reveal that the terrace will also feature a mesmerizing centerpiece: a glass balcony suspended 88 meters above the ground. The most daring visitors will have the opportunity to take pleasure in vistas of the city’s core from this transparent balcony, affording them a bird’s-eye view of everything below their feet.
The hotel will be located at 150 East Ontario Street in the Streeterville neighbourhood, near the popular shopping zone The Magnificent Mile and close to the famous Navy Pier, with the Chicago River to the south and Lake Michigan to the east. With a 4-star rating and 390 rooms, the Riu Plaza Chicago will join RIU’s existing portfolio in the country, where it already has Riu Plaza hotels in Miami, San Francisco and New York.
