Mandarin Oriental Exceptional Homes has expanded its prestigious collection with the addition of Castello di Procopio, a magnificent 12th-century estate in Umbria, Italy.
This marks the brand’s debut in the region and highlights its commitment to offering unique, ultra-luxury stays in the world’s most sought-after destinations. Set on 11 private acres of olive groves, vineyards, and wildflower meadows, the estate provides a tranquil sanctuary with sweeping views towards Assisi, immersing guests in the timeless beauty of the Italian countryside.
Originally commissioned by Holy Roman Emperor Frederico Barbarossa, Castello di Procopio’s restoration has been both ambitious and meticulous, reviving ancient stonework, vaulted ceilings, and architectural details while seamlessly integrating modern comforts.
The estate features eight en-suite bedrooms for up to 16 guests, elegant shared spaces, a heated outdoor pool, a spa suite, and a private chef preparing traditional Umbrian cuisine with local ingredients. Guests can also enjoy curated experiences such as wine tastings and private cultural tours, ensuring a bespoke and memorable stay.
This addition is part of Mandarin Oriental’s broader strategy to grow its Exceptional Homes portfolio, which has expanded from eight to 25 properties in just three years, with plans to reach over 100 in the next five years. Each home is meticulously selected for its outstanding quality and location, delivering the legendary hospitality and personalized service for which Mandarin Oriental is renowned.
With Castello di Procopio, Mandarin Oriental continues to redefine luxury home stays, blending authentic heritage, sophisticated design, and exceptional service for discerning travelers seeking privacy, exclusivity, and a transformative Italian experience.
