Saudi Arabia to Launch ‘Dream of the Desert’ Luxury Train by Late 2025

Saudi Arabia is set to redefine luxury rail travel with the introduction of the ‘Dream of the Desert’ train, scheduled to commence operations by the end of 2025. This five-star rail experience is a collaborative effort between Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) and Italian hospitality company Arsenale, aiming to offer an opulent journey through the Kingdom’s diverse landscapes.

The ‘Dream of the Desert’ will consist of 14 carriages housing 34 meticulously designed luxury suites, each reflecting the essence of Saudi Arabian culture. The train’s interiors, crafted by architect Aline Asmar d’Amman, draw inspiration from traditional Majlis settings, featuring hand-carved wooden elements and geometric patterns that embody the warmth of Saudi hospitality.

The train’s route spans approximately 1,300 kilometers, connecting the capital city Riyadh to Al Qurayyat near the Jordanian border. Passengers will traverse regions such as Al Qassim, Hail, and Al Jouf, offering them an opportunity to experience the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. Onboard amenities include fine dining experiences, sophisticated lounge bars, and curated entertainment options, all designed to provide an unparalleled travel experience.
