Singapore Airlines (SIA) is set to elevate its Premium Economy Class in-flight experience starting March 31, 2024, with a range of new food and beverage options and an upgraded amenity kit.
Passengers in Premium Economy Class will be greeted with a glass of Charles de Cazanove Brut Tradition NV champagne after take-off, and they will have access to a printed menu detailing all meal, snack, and beverage choices available on their flight.
The new menu will feature over 200 appetizers, main courses, and desserts exclusively for Premium Economy Class travelers. Meals will include a seasonal appetizer, main course, bread, dessert, and cheese and crackers, all served on custom-made porcelain.
Upgraded bread options will include croissants for breakfast or garlic bread rolls for other meals. New appetizers will include Spanish patatas bravas and a seasonal variation of Japanese cold noodles.
Passengers can choose from two premium main course options, either international-inspired or Asian-inspired. New dishes may include beef bourguignon, minced pork noodles (Bak Chor Mee), Thai-style crab curry, and more.
Additionally, an expanded Book the Cook menu will be available for pre-order at least 24 hours prior to departure, offering popular choices like Singapore-style seafood hor fun and chicken biryani.
Dessert options may include chocolate feuilletine cake, apple crumble cheesecake, or similar treats, accompanied by a small bar of chocolate and an upgraded cheese and crackers plate.
Premium Economy Class travelers will have a selection of wines, champagne, and mixed drinks like the Singapore Sling. Non-alcoholic options such as peppermint and chamomile teas, and Cadbury hot chocolate will also be available.
For flights lasting at least seven hours, Premium Economy Class passengers will receive an upgraded amenity kit called “Out of the Woods,” made from FSC-certified kraft paper fabric and containing eyeshades and slippers made from recycled PET. Lip balm is packaged in biodegradable material, while toiletries such as dental kits and moisturizer will be available in the lavatory.
Mr. Yeoh Phee Teik, Senior Vice President of Customer Experience at Singapore Airlines, expressed the airline’s commitment to enhancing the Premium Economy Class experience based on customer feedback and market research. He stated, “The result reflects Singapore Airlines’ dedication to enhancing the Premium Economy Class experience to a class of its own.”
