Do you want to be a pilot? This app wishes to provide you with free flight lessons
Frequent fliers have fantasised about taking the reins of our private aircraft and flying off to our favourite places anytime we choose. Now, in honour of National Aviation Day and the birthday of Orville Wright, one-half of the Wright Brothers, those aspirations may just become a reality.
App in the Air, the famous digital travel app, is launching a contest today to uncover the world’s next great pilot. Aviation enthusiasts in the United States and the United Kingdom can apply to win a private flying lesson with a professional pilot in their state or county. Entrants bearing the surname “Wright” will also receive an additional bonus entry in honour of the brothers who began it all.
It’s the ideal moment to appreciate all things in aviation. President Franklin. D. Roosevelt designated August 19 as National Aviation Day in 1939 to encourage American’s citizens to participate in events that foster interest in aviation. Since then, the United States, along with travellers and aviation enthusiasts from across the world, has commemorated the history and development of aviation on this day.
If you’re ready to take to the skies, all you have to do is come here and tell us what you enjoy most flying. Shouldn’t it be easy? The competition will end on September 19, at which point one lucky winner will be picked at random.
