In a sweet collaboration with fellow British brand Jude’s, British Airways will be offering complimentary ice cream on daytime flights departing from London Heathrow and London Gatwick before 5 pm UK time. Customers in World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and World Traveller (economy) can savor a selection of flavors, including the enticing options of very vanilla, strawberries and cream, truly chocolate, and salted caramel. Produced in Hampshire, located less than 60 miles from Heathrow, these treats will be available throughout the summer months.
Chief Customer Officer of British Airways, Calum Laming, expressed the airline’s excitement, stating, “We know that so many of our customers have been looking forward to their summer holidays, so we’ve added these extra touches in time for summer to make their trips even more special.” He emphasized the airline’s commitment to providing personalized experiences for each unique traveler, ensuring that their journeys, whether for family visits, exploration, or beach getaways, are filled with joy and summer memories.
To tantalize the taste buds further, British Airways is introducing summer-inspired menus across its cabins until September. First-class passengers can indulge in lighter dishes such as the classic prawn cocktail, grilled fillet of Atlantic halibut, and the beloved British summer dessert, berry bread and butter pudding. Travelers in World Traveller Plus can enjoy a fresh calamarata pasta followed by a delectable raspberry panna cotta.
Not forgetting entertainment, British Airways is launching a wide range of seasonal content on its inflight entertainment channel, including the all-new ‘Summer Fun’ category, specifically designed for families and children to enjoy at 35,000 feet. Blockbuster movies like Mummies, Luca, Avatar: The Way of Water, as well as a dedicated Barbie channel, will keep young passengers entertained throughout the flight.
