Last year large parts of California as well as other states were closed down due to Covid-19 pandemic. After many months, the state announces official economic opening up on June 15, 2021.
Governor Gavin Newsom today took action to lift pandemic executive orders which includes the termination of the Stay-at-Home Order which was put in place during the early stages of the pandemic in order to prevent its spread and protect the Californians. Effective June 15, restrictions such as physical distancing, capacity limits on businesses and the county tier system will end.
Governor Gavin Newsom has stated ‘California is turning the page on this pandemic, thanks to swift action by the state and the work of Californians who followed public health guidelines and got vaccinated to protect themselves and their communities.’
Restaurants, shopping malls and almost all everyday places will operate as normal without any restrictions or social distancing requirements. However people are expected to observe some common-sense regulations for the safety of their own selves and others – like wearing a mask if unvaccinated, getting tested if sick, avoiding hugging or close contacts, avoiding travel if not well, etc
