In a strategic move to enhance inbound tourism, the Hawai’i Tourism Authority (HTA) is once again turning its attention to the UK and Europe. Emotive Travel Marketing (ETM) Ltd, operating as Hawai’i Tourism Europe, will now represent the Hawaiian Islands in the United Kingdom, while New Age Marketing, ETM Group’s counterpart, will oversee the German and Swiss markets.
This two-year partnership aims to re-establish Hawai’i’s presence in these regions and educate visitors about mindful travel to support the local communities. The primary objective is to achieve substantial growth in both the UK and European markets.
Following the 2023 Maui wildfires, attracting European travelers back is crucial for Maui’s tourism recovery. Daniel Nāho’opi’i, HTA’s Interim President and CEO, emphasized the significance of reconnecting with Europe, stating, “HTA is eager to rejuvenate our longstanding relationships in Europe and support this strengthening visitor source market. We are pleased to welcome Emotive Travel Marketing and New Age Marketing to our team as they commence the critical work ahead.”
ETM, entrusted with representing Hawaii Tourism Europe in the UK and Europe, is well-equipped to fulfill HTA’s objectives. Fleur Sainsbury, Director of ETM and UK Account Manager for Hawaii, expressed enthusiasm, saying, “We are delighted to represent the Hawaiian Islands as Hawaii Tourism Europe in the UK & Europe with a very experienced and passionate team leading the account.”
