WorldHotels expands its Luxury collection in Spain with the addition of Hotel Alhambra Palace, a historic gem nestled at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Granada, Andalusia. The announcement marks WorldHotels’ strategic growth in the Spanish hospitality landscape.
In a press release, WorldHotels President Ron Pohl expressed excitement about the iconic hotel joining the WorldHotels family, stating, “This hotel exemplifies the true meaning of luxury, providing experiences that will last a lifetime.”
Dating back to 1910, Hotel Alhambra Palace is an integral part of Granada’s tourism history. Offering personalized services and showcasing Andalusian gastronomy by Chef Esau Hita, the hotel’s decor is inspired by the Nasrid dynasty, with original tiles dating back to its inception.
With 100 comfortable rooms and suites, guests at Hotel Alhambra Palace are treated to stunning views of Granada and the Alhambra forest. The strategic location, within five minutes walking distance of the Alhambra monument, enhances the overall guest experience.
Wytze Van den Berg, Vice President Operations EMEA for BWH Hotels, highlighted the significance of the addition, stating, “The addition also shows WorldHotels’ determination to establish itself further in the top tier of the market as we always have been doing over the past 50 years.”
The hotel’s rooms and suites underwent refurbishment in 2018 and 2020, blending tradition with modernity. Nasrid-style suites, featuring crenelated balconies and marble bathroom floors, offer a unique Alhambra flair. Hand-selected decorations and flowers adorn many of the rooms.
Hotel Alhambra Palace’s rich history includes hosting luminaries from around the world, including royalty, poets, celebrities, politicians, and artists. The hotel even boasts its own theatre for traditional flamenco performances and Andalusian productions.
Marianella Bertini, General Manager of Hotel Alhambra Palace, captured the allure of the establishment, stating, “Who has not dreamed of sleeping at the Alhambra Palace hotel?! Be part of the legend.”
