Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts opened a brand-new resort in Kuwait City earlier this month. Guests staying at the 200-key Waldorf Astoria Kuwait will see familiar brand aspects including the famous Waldorf Astoria Clock, which has been updated to represent Kuwait’s cultural past, as well as The Library and Peacock Alley. It is a 15-minute drive from Kuwait International Airport and is connected to The Avenues, the country’s largest shopping, leisure, and lifestyle destination.
There are various eating options at the resort. Roka, a Japanese robatayaki restaurant, will open this autumn, while Ava, the property’s hallmark restaurant, will feature Mediterranean cuisine. The Parisian-inspired Peacock Alley serves as an informal meeting spot where guests may enjoy specialty coffees or the Waldorf Astoria’s renowned Afternoon Tea.
The beautifully decorated Peacock Alley restaurant pays homage to the historic Waldorf Astoria in New York. The Oxio Pool and Lounge section serves lighter meals such as salads, sandwiches, and handmade gelatos. The facility is transformed into Kubbar Poolside Restaurant at night, named after Kuwait’s Kober Island. As a business destination, the Waldorf Astoria Kuwait has conference and event rooms, including a Grand Ballroom that can seat up to 720 guests.
“We are very excited to be expanding our portfolio in Kuwait to include the iconic Waldorf Astoria, which brings an elevated luxury guest experience to the country,” said Jochem-Jan Sleiffer, president, Middle East, Africa, and Türkiye, Hilton. “Waldorf Astoria Kuwait is Hilton’s third property in the country and brings a trusted brand to a community of discerning travelers who expect the highest levels of service.”
A large 1,260 sqm Waldorf Astoria Spa with a private suite, welcome lobby, well-appointed bathroom, steam room hammam, spa bath, and double treatment zone will open later this year. Mabanee, a real estate developer, owns the Waldorf Astoria Kuwait. The new property joins two other Hilton hotels in Kuwait, Hilton Kuwait Resort and Hilton Garden Inn Kuwait.
