Marriott Bonvoy’s Homes & Villas is testing a new search tool powered by artificial intelligence, designed to enhance travelers’ ability to find the perfect home and destination for their vacation.
Developed in partnership with Publicis Sapient, the AI search tool utilizes natural language processing, allowing users to describe their ideal vacation. Travelers can input specific preferences, such as destination, travel dates, and special requirements like pet-friendly accommodations.
This innovative search tool is part of Marriott Bonvoy’s broader technology transformation, aimed at delivering more personalized travel experiences to its customers.
Jennifer Hsieh, vice president for Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy, highlighted the tool’s benefits, stating, “Our new AI search tool breaks new ground among vacation rental platforms by allowing travelers to search without a specific destination. With natural-language search, we’re able to play matchmaker, helping travelers effortlessly discover the perfect but perhaps unexpected property and destination among our global collection of extraordinary homes.”
Search results will not only suggest destinations and properties but also provide additional information such as weather forecasts and local attractions, enhancing the overall travel planning experience.
The AI-powered search tool is currently in a test phase and is expected to be available on the Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy website first, with a mobile rollout planned in the coming weeks. Users will have the option to use the AI search functionality or stick with the traditional search method.
