Taiwan is actively promoting itself as a Muslimfriendly travel destination, aiming to attract more Muslim tourists by enhancing its hospitality offerings. On November 27, the Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) hosted the “Taiwan MuslimFriendly Tourism B2B Networking Event” at the Fullon Hotel Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf, marking a significant step in this initiative.
The networking event was organized in collaboration with the Crown Coast Union and Great Northeast Tourism Union, both dedicated to creating a more accommodating environment for Muslim travelers. Several businesses in these regions have already received certification for their Muslimfriendly services.
The event attracted 26 travel agencies from Malaysia, alongside local Taiwanese agencies, hoteliers, restaurateurs, and souvenir providers interested in catering to Muslim tourists. This diverse participation highlights Taiwan’s commitment to fostering international tourism connections.
The TTA’s Kuala Lumpur Office organized a familiarization trip for Malaysian Muslim travel agents, allowing them to explore the tourism offerings of northern and central Taiwan. This initiative aimed to showcase the region’s appeal and encourage collaboration between Taiwanese and Malaysian travel professionals.
The event featured booths for discussions among over 20 tourism providers from northern Taiwan. Participants engaged in meaningful dialogue about aligning Taiwan’s diverse tourism resources with the specific needs of Malaysian Muslim travelers.
Attendees also enjoyed brief presentations from Taiwanese participants who showcased their Muslimfriendly services and products. These insights provided valuable information on how Taiwan can better serve this demographic.
Conclusion:
This initiative by the Taiwan Tourism Administration reflects a strategic effort to tap into the growing market of Muslim travelers. By establishing partnerships and enhancing its offerings, Taiwan aims to create a welcoming environment that meets the expectations of Muslim tourists while promoting its rich cultural and natural attractions. As these efforts continue, Taiwan is poised to become a favored destination for Muslim travelers seeking unique experiences in Asia.
