The ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certificate, achieved after a successful audit, reaffirms the airport’s dedication to industry-leading standards in environmental sustainability.
The certification, outlining requirements for an effective environmental management system, highlights Hamad International Airport’s commitment to enhancing performance. This global recognition underscores the airport’s goals in waste management, minimizing natural resource consumption, and addressing climate change.
As part of the surveillance auditing process, the airport underwent a thorough review of its operations, focusing on areas with high potential environmental risk. The process included employee interviews, evaluation of operational controls, and an assessment of the airport’s adherence to ISO 14001:2015 requirements.
Apart from the Environmental Management Systems certification, Hamad International Airport holds the ISO 55001:2014 Asset Management System certification and the ISO 22301:2019 Business Continuity Management Systems certification from BSI. Furthermore, the airport has achieved the ACI ACA Level-3 of the Airport Carbon Accreditation, solidifying its position in environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
