Hotelplan UK has confirmed a cyber attack, with CEO Joe Ponte stating that the breach occurred over the weekend, causing disruptions in key systems.
In response to the incident, the company has taken immediate measures to isolate and shut down the affected systems. Ponte reassured that existing holiday bookings remain unaffected, and customers are departing as scheduled.
The cyber-attack prompted Hotelplan UK to reinforce the security of its systems across all brands, including Explore Worldwide, Inghams, Inntravel, Esprit Ski, and Santa’s Lapland.
While communication channels for travel agents, suppliers, partners, and customers remain operational, Ponte acknowledged potential delays and IT disruptions in the coming days. The company is actively implementing workarounds to minimize inconvenience.
Ponte expressed the company’s commitment to restoring normal service levels, stating, “Resolving this incident remains our top priority. We are working hard to resume the level of service that you expect from us and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.”
Highlighting that the systems for each brand may become fully operational at different times, Hotelplan UK pledged to update customers and suppliers with further details as the extent of the issue becomes clearer.
