Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Set to Unveil Dolce by Wyndham Versailles – Domaine du Montcel in France

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced the imminent opening of the Dolce by Wyndham Versailles – Domaine du Montcel, a 178-room property located in the heart of France’s Yvelines region. Positioned just minutes from the iconic Palace of Versailles, the hotel is a result of a comprehensive renovation led by 2BDM Architects, renowned for their expertise in preserving historic buildings, monuments, and gardens.

Scheduled to welcome guests in December 2023, the property boasts 14 hectares of meticulously landscaped gardens, two restaurants, a terraced bar, and a conference center featuring 18 meeting rooms, along with a 550 sqm Baccarat ballroom—the largest in the region.

Guests will also have access to the Spa du Moncel by Sothys, offering amenities such as a heated indoor and outdoor pool, a sensory shower, snow cave, sauna, fitness room, and seven treatment rooms. Conveniently located, the hotel is a short 30-minute drive from Paris-Orly Airport and within walking distance of the Jouy-en-Josas Train Station.

As part of the restoration efforts, 2BDM Architects reintroduced the famous Toiles de Jouy print to the guestroom décor. Originating from the 20th century and manufactured by Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf in the town of Jouy-en-Josas, the printed canvas holds historical significance for both the hotel and the town.

Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by notable works of art, including “Long Term Parking” by Arman (1982), a sculpture featuring 59 cars encased in concrete forming an 18-meter tower, and “Hommage à Eiffel” by César (1989), a monumental 3-meter-high plaque made from pieces of the Eiffel Tower.
