Europe: They are 226,597 rooms are under construction (-12.2 %), The Total Rooms Planned are 158,057 (-12.7%), The Number of Rooms still in planning are 164,690 (+5.8%), The Total rooms under Contract are 549,344 (-7.7%). Germany (42,712) and the United Kingdom (31,796) are the most total rooms under development in Europe.
Asia Pacific: The total number of rooms under construction is 482,689 (+4.3%), The Total Rooms Planned are 147,854 (-19.3 %), The rooms still in planning are 315,956 rooms (+16.9%), the total number of rooms under contract are 946,499 (+3.3%), China has the most rooms under development in the area (301,879), followed by Vietnam (32,804) in the Asia Pacific.
Africa and the Middle East: They are 126,860 rooms under construction (-10.6 %), The Total Rooms Planned are 37,830 (-17.2 %), The rooms still in Planning are 69,398 (+29.6%), Total Contracted are 234,088 (-2.9 %). Construction activity is led by Saudi Arabia (38,181) and the United Arab Emirates (30,367) in these two regions.
Americas: 207,018 rooms are under construction (-14.0 %), The Total Rooms Planned are 209,353 (-17.7 %) The rooms still in Planning are 346,277 (+30.3%), Total Number of rooms under Contract are 762,648 (+0.3%). The United States has the bulk of rooms under development in the area. Following the United States, Mexico (14,317) and Brazil (7,080) have the most rooms under construction in the area.
