In 2022, the Europe, Africa, and Middle East (EAME) region of Hyatt Hotels Corporation experienced significant expansion, with 45% of all new properties joining the global hotel chain in that region. Additionally, the EAME region is expected to continue its growth in 2023.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has stated that 10% of its upcoming hotel projects are planned for the EAME region, and nearly a quarter of these projects are in the lifestyle hotel segment.
Hyatt’s properties in the EAME region are no longer predominantly focused on business travel, as the hotel chain has increased its luxury rooms by 100%, its number of resorts by 300%, and its number of lifestyle rooms by 400% over the past five years.”
Formerly known as the AMR Collection, the Inclusive Collection is a vast portfolio of luxury all-inclusive resorts that ranks among the world’s largest. In December, the collection expanded its reach in Europe by adding twenty new resorts, including five in Bulgaria set to open in 2023 and 2024, as well as another resort in Portugal scheduled for 2024.
The company has plans to integrate over 30 ‘Lindner Hotels & Resorts’ and ‘me and all hotels’ properties into the World of Hyatt program and introduce the JDV by Hyatt brand into the economic powerhouse. This, in Germany alone.
Two resorts are slated to open in the summer of 2023 by the Hyatt Regency brand – the Hyatt Regency Pravets Resort in Bulgaria and the Hyatt Regency Resort Kotor Bay in Montenegro. The Grand Hyatt La Manga Club and Resort will open later this year in Spain and The Unbound Collection will have three openings across 2023 and 2024. The Park Hyatt brand will open a new hotel in South Africa this year with the Park Hyatt Johannesburg and in Morocco with Park Hyatt Marrakech.
“Through our growth with intent strategy, Hyatt has built an industry-leading luxury, lifestyle and leisure portfolio in Europe, Middle East and Africa. I am particularly proud of our regional contribution to our global growth journey, as 45 percent of the 120 hotels that joined the Hyatt portfolio were based in the region,” said Javier águila, group president EAME, Hyatt. “I have no doubt that EAME will continue to be a strong contributor to Hyatt’s global growth journey in the coming years. Owners appreciate our combination of personal connections, strong brands and global performance track record.”
