US Deputy Marshal Arrested for Disruptive Conduct on Delta Flight to London

A deputy US marshal has been apprehended by UK police on suspicion of being intoxicated during a Delta flight from New York JFK to London Heathrow. The marshal, traveling to accompany a UK prisoner being extradited to the US, was arrested after the flight crew reported disruptive behavior onboard.

London’s Metropolitan Police clarified that a separate accusation of sexual assault during the flight would not lead to further action. Both air marshals were reportedly intoxicated, and one allegedly engaged in serious misconduct while intoxicated, including inappropriate touching of a female passenger.

The US Marshal Service provided details, stating, “He was arrested after officers at Heathrow Airport were contacted by the crew who reported a man was being disruptive onboard.”

Delta Air Lines is actively cooperating with the investigation. In response to the incident, the airline stated, “Due to unruly passenger behavior while in flight, the flight was met by local law enforcement upon landing.”

The arrested deputy marshal is expected to appear in court today to face charges related to his alleged disruptive conduct on the flight.
