Hotel Trouvail Miami Beach Inducted Into Historic Hotels of America

Hotel Trouvail Miami Beach in Miami, Florida, is ecstatic to announce that it has been inducted into Historic Hotels of America, the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s official program.

Hotel Trouvail Miami Beach is one of over 300 hotels and resorts in the United States that have been designated by Historic Hotels of America for conserving and maintaining its historic integrity, architecture, and ambiance. To be eligible for membership in Historic Hotels of America®, a hotel must be at least 50 years old, have been designated as a National Historic Landmark by the United States Secretary of the Interior, or be listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, and be recognized as having historic significance.

Hotel Trouvail, located in a unique, secluded area of Miami Beach in a renovated Art Deco structure, is rich in history and architectural integrity. The hotel that was previously The Greenbrier was built in 1940 and debuted as a 71-room hotel. It is now part of the Collins Waterfront Historic District. It was turned into a condominium complex with 41 apartments ranging from studios to two bedrooms in the 1990s. It reopened in 2019 as the Palihouse Miami Beach, and it will reopen as the independent Hotel Trouvail in late 2022.

“We are proud and excited to be inducted into Historic Hotels of America®,” said General Manager Alisher Rodriguez.  “This prestigious membership is a testament to our dedication to preserving the historic charm of Hotel Trouvail, while continually striving to provide our guests with new, unforgettable experiences.”

The hotel, named after the French term trouvaille, is considered a “fortunate find” for individuals who admire beautiful rooms and private exclusivity within Miami Beach’s iconic Art Deco architecture. The hotel includes 71 well-appointed rooms and studios, the majority of which have kitchenettes, and combines hotel service and facilities with AirBnB-style chambers. It has a somewhat secluded character since it is located just feet away from the sand and the well-known Miami nightlife while staying a world away from the ruckus.
